2014 The Tower White Wine
Vineyards & Winemaking
We received only a tiny amount of each varietal from a small, family owned and operated vineyard in the western hills of Dry Creek Valley. Each varietal was hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed seperately to neutral barrels for fermentation. All lots were allowed to undergo primary fermentation with their native yeasts, and the Rousanne was stopped early to preserve some of its natural residual sugar. The other varietals were put through malo-lactic fermentation to accentuate mouthfeel. Aged for 9 months in neutral barrels to limit oak influence and enhance the bright fruit aromas of the Rhone varietals.
This aromatic bright white is dominated by tropical aromas of lychee nut, kiwi, honeydew melon, and passionfruit with a subtle zesty touch of candied ginger. Big fruit flavor and crisp acid balance this wine with a round body but a clean, decisive finish.
