2014 "Bisordi Vineyard" Chardonnay
Farmed by Henry Bisordi, a veteran, third-generation grape grower in the Russian River Valley, the vineyard source for this wine is just west of the small town of Fulton. Ideally maintained vineyards, and a close to perfect growing season, provided us with an amazing crop of Chardonnay, that we would be remiss not to showcase as a single vineyard bottling.
Whole-cluster pressed by our state-of-the-art Willmes, then racked to tank to cold settle for 48 hours. The entire lot was racked to barrel and inoculated with a specialized yeast, isolated from South Africa, that was designed specifically to accentuate volume and mouthfeel. 12 months in 40% new French oak selected for medium impact in order to provide ideal integration during aging without leaving the wine tasting woody or toasty.
Delicious aromas of golden apples, candied coconut, creamy vanilla and butterscotch. Rich, creamy, full-bodied wine with perfectly balanced acidity, and a refreshingly clean finish.
